Welcome to the homepage of Lindsey Horner. I'm happy to report that the Undiscovered Country CD is finished!
We recorded most of the material during the last week of June, 2009, and I'm quite pleased with the results, if I do say so myself. Erwin Vann and Augustin Foly flew in from Belgium, Jeff Berman and Colter Harper made their way from Pittsburgh, Allison Miller motored in from Brooklyn and Rob Thomas strolled down from 176th st. Chris Cunningham made a surprise appearance on a visit back from Minneapolis and a good time was had by all.
In September the great Andy Irvine, one of my all time musical heroes and a true legend of Irish and World music, was in New York and he did me the honor of graciously adding his talents to two tracks. For me, the very definition of a dream come true.
In early December, I went back into the studio with percussion master and engineer supreme, Randy Crafton, to do some overdubs. I've posted a few photos from that session in the photo gallery section of this site.
In early March we finished mixing, a process that had been halted by the heavy snow here in the New York area. It proved to be a challenging mix, but there's a lot of richness to the sound picture. On March 10th, Randy and I mastered the recording. It's taken a full year to get it into corporeal (and digital) form, but I do believe it is worth the wait.
If you signed up to participate, thanks again for your trust and support and I hope you've been going to the site often to check out the progress and see some of the photos, interviews and various other goodies there.
